"i dont know if facebook ruins relationships necessarily, but i do think it puts unneccesary stress/strain on them. think about guys and/or girls that dont want to list the name of thier bf/gf and just keep it as “in a relationship”. if the bf doesnt want to, the gf will wonder why he doesnt want to. or the “its complicated” feature which i think it retarded. how is listing and letting everyone on fb see that “its complicated” going to help your situation AT ALL? As for friendships, yes i think fb can ruin friendships. i have been in/witnessed situations where ppl have logged onto my account changed information or requested ppl that you didnt want requested etc. also if you were supposed to hang out with your friend one night and they bail and htey are dumb enough to post pics of themselves out that night with other ppl-that all is friendship ruining potential im sure weve all been there done that!"
I found this on a blog site. I think that it does put strain and cause drama but doesn't ruin someones friendship. It's their actions that ruin it not the website.

Facebook is better than Myspace
http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/2479902/top_5_reasons_facebook_is_better_than.html?cat=9
That is a link to an article about why Facebook is better than Myspace. I personally agree with it and am considering writing my augmentative paper on it. I think it can be controversial because it is just based off of opinions like that Facebooks layout is cleaner. There really isn't too much of a difference between the two. I find it interesting because I really do wonder which one is better. In the sense of which is faster and more reliable. I want to know people started using Facebook more than Myspace and why Myspace is considered so "middle school"

Facebook ads
Free Baby Day Bag
Get absolutely free day bag, diapers, formula & baby bottle cooler. Email required. Limited one offer per household. Act now!
I am not completely sure why this ad came up on my Facebook. Considering I don't have a kid or plan to anytime soon it doesn't really make much sense. Maybe it's because teen pregnancy is higher now they are advertising things for kids on younger peoples Facebooks.
Polished Nail Bar
It's the nail salon down the street from queens. Most likely, they advertise to girls who live in the Charlotte area. Most guys, I assume don't really want to get their nails done so that would be wasting money in advertising. Being a teenage girl, I am probably one of their top people to target but girls love to get their nails done.
College living at UNCC
The ad has a picture of a girl smiling and looking happy. They are advertising for students to live on the UNCC campus. Since my Facebook says I live in Charlotte, the obviously are going to target me since I am the age of a college student and already live here so it would be easy for me to go there.

zzzzzz...
Right now, I am avoiding my nap. On mondays and wednesdays I have a four hour break between classes were I usually sleep for three of those four hours. But, this makes me not be able to fall asleep at night which is extremely frustrating. I'm trying to keep myself occupied but my bed looks so comfy and inviting.

My near death experience..
So far the most interesting thing that has happened to me this week was when my roommate almost killed me. We were on the way back from Harris Teeter and Anna was getting a little anxious waiting in all the traffic. So, she decided to pull out into the middle of the intersection and make a sharp left as soon as a car was coming. It literally missed hitting my side by about 3 inches..it's safe to say I will be doing the driving from now on.

New York Times review
What makes Mark Zuckerberg run? In “The Social Network,” David Fincher’s fleet, weirdly funny, exhilarating, alarming and fictionalized look at the man behind the social-media phenomenon Facebook — 500 million active users, oops, friends, and counting — Mark runs and he runs, sometimes in flip-flops and a hoodie, across Harvard Yard and straight at his first billion. Quick as a rabbit, sly as a fox, he is the geek who would be king or just Bill Gates. He’s also the smartest guy in the room, and don’t you forget it. The first time you see Mark (Jesse Eisenberg, firing on all cylinders) he’s 19 and wearing a hoodie stamped with the word Gap, as in the clothing giant but, you know, also not. Eyes darting, he is yammering at his girlfriend, Erica (Rooney Mara), whose backhand has grown weary. As they swat the screenwriter Aaron Sorkin’s words at each other, the two partners quickly shift from offline friends to foes, a foreshadowing of the emotional storms to come. Soon Mark is back in his dorm, pounding on his keyboard and inadvertently sowing the seeds of Facebook, first by blogging about Erica and then by taking his anger out on the rest of Harvard’s women, whose photos he downloads for cruel public sport: is she hot or not. — Manohla Dargis

Wal-Mart smiley gone bad?
Whenever I see a smirk I automatically think someone is scheming or being a smart ass. Especially since the background of the picture is red it adds more a flare and sassiness to it. This is something that if you are facebook chatting a friend you would send this after a snide remark. It brings to mind an evil Wal-Mart smiley. It's like that every good side has a bad one that goes along with it. Everyone has a little fire in them and no matter how sweet and innocent someone seems they can fight back.
My first blog..
This whole blogging this is new to me. I never really had a desire to blog because I didn't think my life was exciting enough to tell people about it frequently. But so far it seems pretty cool..I guess we'll see how it goes!
